It is a relatively new site that offers to pay members to read and rate articles.
There have been claims made that Readbud is a scam and payout will never happen. On the other hand, there have recently been a few reports of payouts received. Members must accumulate $50 before they are paid through Paypal.
It is quite simple and free to become a member. There's really nothing to you it: you register, then read, rate, repeat. Personally, I consider there to be no risk, given that I enjoy reading articles anyway.
Readbud offers several articles each day for members to read and then rate from one to five stars. So far, I have I been credited with between 4c and 6c for each article. I hope to reach $50 within a few months so that I can claim and receive some money. Rest assured, there will be a follow up to this article.
For those looking for opportunities to work from home and make money online or simply earn extra income part-time, Readbud has an affiliate program which I will also talk more about in future posts.
I have some burning questions about Readbud that I'm hoping someone can answer for me. Where do Readbud get their articles? What to they do with the rating information?
At any rate, I believe this site to be well worth signing up for.
The Hostess brand began in 1925 when the Continental Baking Company wanted a line of cakes to market alongside its popular Wonder Bread. The humble Twinkie became Hostess’ best-selling product and has since ingrained itself thoroughly into American popular culture.

In Illinois on April the 6th 1930, plant manager James A. Dewar invented the Twinkie. At the time, the bakery was producing strawberry shortcake fingers, but strawberries were only in season for six weeks of the year. Dewar decided to make good use of the equipment at his disposal, rather than let it sit idle. His simple idea was to use the cake pans to bake sponge cakes, then inject them with banana crème.

After seeing a billboard advertising Twinkle Toe Shoes, Dewar was inspired to dub his creation: the Twinkie. Twinkies were marketed as an inexpensive snack, priced at two for a nickel – a successful tactic, given that it was the beginning of the Great Depression and money was tight for most.

In the 1940s, during World War II, rationing meant that using bananas was no longer viable, so a vanilla crème was substituted. Some other modifications of ingredients were made over the years to extend its shelf life but essentially, the vanilla crème filled sponge cake is the product we know of today as a Twinkie.

In the 1950s, Hostess sponsored the hugely popular children’s television program The Howdy Doody Show. Their cartoon mascot, Twinkie the Kid, consequently rose to fame. This walking, talking, Twinkie personified was characterized by his cowboy hat, boots and lasso.

The fear of nuclear war that emerged in the 1960s also gave birth to urban myths and legends surrounding the Twinkie. It was believed (by some) that Twinkies were the best food to store in your bomb shelter as they could survive a nuclear holocaust and out-last most foods. Other mythical anecdotes suggest that somewhere out there is a giant Twinkie storage facility where Twinkies are kept for years and still sold as a fresh product. Though Twinkies do have a considerable shelf-life of twenty-five days, these beliefs were clearly unfounded but persist even today.

In 1978, Dan White shot and killed America’s first openly gay elected official, Harvey Milk. The following year at trial, White’s psychiatrist testified for his defense, claiming that White suffered from depression and this was evidenced by a sudden shift in behavior – specifically, binging on junk food. Claiming diminished capacity with flimsy reasoning has ever since been referred to as a “Twinkie defense”.

Numerous pop-culture references have been made to the now iconic Twinkie: in film and television; gaming; music; sports; and literature. In 1999 President Clinton famously included a Twinkie in a millennium time-capsule as a representation of American culture and in 2005 the American Society of Media Photographers featured the Twinkie in an annual exhibition.

It is unlikely that James Dewar could ever have predicted the success of his invention. Remaining popular to this day, around half a billion Twinkies are produced and consumed every year.

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-82442600245344922602010-05-24T16:29:00.000+10:002010-05-24T16:29:33.537+10:002010-05-24T16:29:33.537+10:00mishka and friends cute puppy peek-a-boo

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-85677500586409277872010-05-20T14:06:00.000+10:002010-05-20T14:06:22.278+10:002010-05-20T14:06:22.278+10:00Microphone Fail

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-88426492583415713312010-04-10T23:47:00.000+10:002010-04-10T23:47:06.137+10:002010-04-10T23:47:06.137+10:00SPRACI.COMI have just discovered Spraci.com which has excellent and up-to-date event listings for all over Australia. I LOVE GIVING AWAY FREE THINGSI love making things that I can give to my friends. That's why I was so excited to discover rave kandy. I have always loved bright coloured beads - guess I am easily amused! Rave kandy bracelets are intended to be gifted or swapped, so in the spirit of my inner Candee Raver, I decided to give away a prize this week. It was so exciting, a random facebook fan got to win a gift pack including : sample packs of mixed shape glow-in-the dark beads, alphabet beads, uv reactive neon beads and uv reactive translucent stars and hearts plus elastic; two funky zip purses; two phone dangles/charms; and three uv reactive kandy bracelets. Running the give-away was so much fun and got my fans interacting, I will definately be doing it regularly.

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-66399292098966022472010-03-22T21:40:00.001+10:002010-03-22T21:40:00.909+10:002010-03-22T21:40:00.909+10:00Extreme Sheep LED Art

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-70720973849145268782010-03-17T20:17:00.001+10:002010-03-17T20:17:03.624+10:002010-03-17T20:17:03.624+10:00Ninja Baby

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-48310750019900364062010-03-17T20:05:00.001+10:002010-03-17T20:05:47.828+10:002010-03-17T20:05:47.828+10:00I don't like you Mommy

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-69136462929670945332010-01-31T02:00:00.000+10:002010-01-31T02:00:28.130+10:002010-01-31T02:00:28.130+10:00Current Products Stocked, Rave Beads:
A new product line for Rave Beads has arrived. I ordered these heart and star beads coz they're so pretty and when they arrived I checked them under the black light and guess what?!!! They glow. Cool. Now my kandy products include neon pony beads, rainbow alphabet cubes, PLUR bead sets, heart and star shaped beads and all my bracelet designs. I am keen to do some video tutorials but don't have a camera at the moment. I'm also working on getting a reliable supply of glow in the dark pony beads. Oooh AND looking forward to my order of silicone glow in the dark wrist bands.

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-15608124047821218362009-09-17T15:10:00.000+10:002009-09-17T15:10:26.085+10:002009-09-17T15:10:26.085+10:00Glow in the Dark Beads and Pride BeltsFinally! More beads have arrived. I now have glow-in-the-dark beads to add to my product range. Monnie has already gone ahead and made up a few kandy bracelets with them. They look awesome! We have pony beads as well as shaped beads. Not to mention the alphabet and PLUR beads I received the other week - there are so many combinations of kandy jewellery we can make now it's insane.

I have also ordered 2 dozen rad studded belts I came across in rainbow pride colours. I have had a hard time sourcing products and materials in these 6 colours but would love to add to my gay pride range so I am stoked I found these belts.

As usual, soooo much work to do so I'd better get back to yet. Cheerio!!

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-24622911611182123522009-09-08T17:51:00.000+10:002009-09-08T17:51:54.781+10:002009-09-08T17:51:54.781+10:00Soooo much mailSpent $50 at the post office today sending customers their items. And that's just the stuff I didn't have stamps or satchels for! They know me at the post office, very nice people - lucky cos I spend so much time there and always get stuff wrong. My scales broke so I can't weigh anything. But all this is a good sign that people must like my shop or they wouldn't be buying stuff.

Still waiting on my new beads. I'm not sure I know anyone else who would get so excited about a big box of loose plastic beads. Is it just me?

The yard work continues. I am injured - blisters and cuts - yesterday I nearly took my finger off. Tomorrow I will mow and do the edges and it should look all pretty and tidy for when the boys get home from overseas. Dan and Aaron have been away in Europe for five weeks. We miss them! It's not home without the boys. I will wash Danny's car for him too. So many jobs!

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-75549875014048798102009-09-03T17:26:00.000+10:002009-09-03T17:26:42.726+10:002009-09-03T17:26:42.726+10:00If we build it, they will comeHoorah! The pavers are in. And although it's the bodgiest job ever, I am very proud. Now we have somewhere to sit outside and look at the garden. Monnie refers to it as her 'paved area'. . . . . . It's a few bricks unevenly shoved in the ground. Our attempts at 'keeping up with the Jones' could be considered quite pitiful when you look next door at the mansion with its antique chandeliers, ongoing renovation and a pool on the way. But I don't want or need those things. I am happy with a 'paved area' and some pretty flowers lovingly cared for.
Speaking of being lovingly cared for, my cat Harlequin has just announced that it is after 5 o'clock. I don't need a watch, Harly lets me know when it's time to wake up, when it's breakfast, when it's time to go out, time to come in, and the most important time - dinner time. If the new scratches on my couch are any indication, that must be about now.
So, to keep it quick, my day in a nutshell:
get out of bed - done (arguably the greatest achievement)
paving - done
obligatory weekly coffee catch up with my mother - done
mailing - done
housework - not done and not likely to happen either
lol byeeeeee

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-78287141117005416912009-09-02T14:39:00.000+10:002009-09-02T14:39:11.471+10:002009-09-02T14:39:11.471+10:00GUTTEDA mean person has wrecked my feedback rating and I am so upset - I work really hard for that! Problems and mistakes happen - why can't we work together like civilized people to resolve them instead of maliciously and childishly attacking the closest or easiest target, regardless of where true blame lies. Grrr . . . GIVE PEOPLE A CHANCE. Give PEACE a chance! lol

To balance out that rant, I have some positive thoughts. I am so excited about all the new beads on their way - glow in the dark, alphabet, mini pony beads and all sorts! We will be making some rad kandy. They are late, but should be here next week. Meanwhile, I really have to tidy up my work area and make some space for new stuff. That can be this evening's project.

Our yard work is at a standstill until we get the sand for paving our little outside area. This is a blessing - I'm not designed for hard physical labour lol - digging that clay was hard core. All our pot plants are thriving, so surely that is a sign I am nearly grown up and responsible enough to have children, right? I hope so because the clock is ticking. Oh dear, I'm too busy today to have a maternal crisis or dwell on my upcoming 30th.
Alrighty folks, I shall be back to update later. luv luv Cath x

Catehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11304508945220760950cathstuff@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2301335244443878814.post-68199748330617086782009-09-01T22:29:00.000+10:002009-09-01T22:29:35.063+10:002009-09-01T22:29:35.063+10:00I am Miss CathHi I am Cath and this is my very first blog post, so I feel it should be an introduction.

I'm from Queensland in Australia and I live with a crazy bunch of wonderful friends and charismatic pets. In the past I have taught music and worked in childcare, but right now I am into being at home, quietly designing and creating. I love stickers, colourful beads and rave kandy. I have an eBay store and I mail to anywhere in Australia, so if you like the pictures of my products, you can buy them at www.stores.ebay.com.au/rave-beads I have a lot of cool things that would make great gifts.

On my blog page you will find all my photos as well as our own video demonstrations of how our products are made. They will be updated regularly along with posts, links and general exciting stuff about my life and what's new with Rave Beads.
